Dennis Yi Master Violin

Dennis Yi discovered his passion for creating instruments at a young age, hand carving simple musical toys and learning how sound could be shaped through wood. That early curiosity eventually led him to Guangzhou, China’s renowned “City of Music,” where he committed himself fully to the art of violin making.

His craft was shaped under two influential mentors: Li Zhijie, one of China’s leading varnish specialists, and He Guanghong, a national gold-medal violin maker. Guided by their expertise, Dennis devoted himself to mastering every detail of construction, tone, and finish.

His first master violin received exceptional praise from teachers, makers, and performers, and marked the beginning of his reputation as a rising craftsman. Today, Dennis Yi’s violins are admired across Europe, America, and Asia for their warm sound, refined workmanship, and faithful continuation of Guangdong’s violin making tradition.
